7/9/00 - In Los Capitanos related news, Russ Cogdell is set to play his last show with Zao tonight at Club Lagga in Pittsburgh. Here's to a great career Russ!
7/12/00 - Alas! A sad day it is for Los Capitanos! Steve and Russ leave today for Florida to attend film school. We would just like to take this opportunity to say that they both have been great additions to all of our lives, not to mention the heart and soul of Los Capitanos. They will be greatly missed. However, fear not, loyal fans, for when they return Los Capitanos will reunite and hopefully get to work on their first album. Until then, please check out the Bison Lair on our links page. It's sure to be growing real soon.
7/12/00 - Well here's some good news! We finally got around to putting up some sound samples of Los Capitanos. Unfortunately the quality isn't too good since we didn't get to record new samples before Steve and Russ left, but please have a listen anyway by checking out the sounds page and let us know what you think.
1/23/01 - Los Capitanos has hit the big time with over 1000 site hits in just a few weeks. The band now has a new email address (loscapitanos@yahoo.com) and the guest book is up and running again. We can't promise much right now in the way of recordings since the band is separated by a bunch of states at the moment, but hopefully things will happen eventually. Keep on the lookout.
8/12/01 - Most of Los Capitanos reunites in Florida to discuss the future of the band. New material is uncovered and the band as a whole moves forward.
As of 9/19/01 - The Florida faction of Los Capitanos has plans to be returning to Greensburg very soon. We are all dedicated to Los Capitanos, and after a short period of regrouping, we will set out to make actual recordings. Yay!
10/11/01 - Our guitarist and our drummer will be arriving back in Greensburg on October 13th, so the complete reunion of Los Capitanos is now being measured in weeks. Keep a lookout for more updates as the band expands to new levels.
10/14/01 - The founding fathers of Los Capitanos have had preliminary discussions today about scheduling a "band only" meeting. This meeting, to take place within the next week, will determine what is in store for Los, in both the immediate and distant future. Keep your eyes open for a possible band name change.
10/21/01 - Today marks the first official practice of Los Capitanos (now affectionately referred to as the Bison Syndicate) of 2001. A tentative layout for the band's demo album has been released: Snow Mountain Yeti, Archibald, Phantom Cyclist, Rise Up From Your Grave Tutankhamen, and D&D Memories, arrangement subject to change. Check the lyrics page for additional Archibald lyrics, and for the first time ever the lyrics to Snow Mountain Yeti.
3/5/02 - Los Capitanos, after many name and few member changes becomes STATES OF MELBA and begins practicing and recording regularly. Several songs are finished, many more sure to come. Look for a demo disk to be available sometime this summer.
6/6/02 - States of Melba is diligently working on the production of their first demo disk to be titled "Malevolent Legumes." Look for it, as well as a States of Melba sticker, to be on sale during Zao's upcoming tour.
